Outpatient and Inpatient Units

Diabetes ServiceOutpatient/Observation Unit (a stay for less than 24 hours)

At Clinton Memorial Hospital we have an eight-bed Outpatient Observation Care unit that accommodates patients that are in need of close nursing care and watchfulness in a regular hospital room environment for a short period of time. This is considered an outpatient stay by Medicare and other insurance plans. These observation beds give physicians and nurses the chance to carefully watch a patient’s condition and order laboratory and other diagnostic tests before making a decision about whether to admit the patient for more care, to help them seek care with a different facility or clear them to go home.

Inpatients Unit (staying longer than 24 hours)

Patients who will need to stay at Clinton Memorial Hospital for more than 24 hours because of the nature of their illness, injury or surgery are treated on the Surgical/Pediatrics floor or the Medical/Telemetry floor. These floors offer private and semi-private rooms with round-the-clock nursing care. Patients on these floors need a greater amount of care and assistance to recover. While you are an inpatient you will likely encounter caregivers from many areas of the hospital. These people have a specialize role within the hospital and they can contribute to the success of your care plan.
