Our Services
Newborn Home Visiting Nurses
CMH Newborn Home Visiting Nurses is a special initiative made possible through funding from the Ohio Department of Health in cooperation with Ohio Family and Children First. It permits nurses from Clinton Memorial Hospital’s Mother-Baby Care to make home visits to all new mothers approximately one to two weeks after being discharged from the hospital.
The purpose of these visits is to answer questions about the health of the new mother and baby, and to provide referrals to additional services and support in the community, such as Women, Infant and Children (WIC).
The Newborn Home Visiting Nurses Program is an opportunity to provide more appropriate referrals to other agencies by visiting the home, providing sound physical assessment information within a one- to two-week time frame and building on the relationship established with the family through the prenatal, intrapartum and immediate postpartum periods.
