Patient and Visitor Guide
Infection Control Tips—Keeping Everyone Well
Hospitals treat people with infectious diseases and compromised immune
systems everyday. There are opportunities for both patients and
visitors to spread illness. In order to help keep everyone as healthy as
possible there are few simple common-sense things you can do to help:
- Do not visit the hospital if you are contagious. If you must visit the hospital, ask for a protective face mask to help keep airborne germs contained.
- Wash your hands when arriving to visit; after sneezing, coughing, touching your eyes, nose, or mouth; after using the restroom; before and after eating and drinking.
- Use the soap and alcohol sanitizers in patient rooms. They are for everyone.
