CMH Foundation

photoCMH Regional Health System, a not-for-profit entity which receives no local tax dollars, had a record $12 million in charity care during 2007. Gifts to the CMH Foundation help offset that by helping those who come up short when it comes to helping themselves. As a result, more funds are available to CMH Regional Health System for services, programs and staff that maintain the health and vitality of the region we serve.

The CMH Foundation’s Charity Care Assistance Program (CCAP) gives you the opportunity to choose where your dollars are used or to allow us to use the money where most needed. Your gift will enable us to continue to assist those members of our community who really need assistance—the “working poor” and others confronted with catastrophic health care circumstances.

Capital gifts to the CMH Foundation are used to acquire new technology and equipment or build new or renovate facilities. Endowments can be used in much the same way or in other ways to provide the best medical care possible. If you prefer that your donation be designated for a specific service, there are several options, including these CMH services:

  • Blanchester Medical Services
  • Clinton Community Dental Services
  • Clinton Memorial Hospital (including Emergency Services, Radiology Services, others)
  • CMH Neurological Services
  • CMH Pediatric and Adolescent Services
  • Diabetes Services
  • East Clinton Medical Services
  • Family Health Center
  • Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center
  • Home Care Services

Except for instances where money is designated for a specific purpose, the majority of CCAP funds support those accessing the above services that need financial assistance with medication, social service and transportation costs. At Clinton Memorial Hospital, that could refer to those coming through Emergency Services or a woman needing a mammogram in Radiology Services. All these services are utilized by a high population of uninsured and underinsured from area communities. Donations to Diabetes Services also helps qualified diabetic patients with the cost of supplies and an educational program that promotes understanding and prevention of this growing health threat.

How You Can Help

Your CMH Foundation is only as strong as the support it receives. To fulfill that promise, we ask that you join with us to provide what you can to advance our mission, vision and values. Whatever your level of giving, we are grateful. There are many other ways to give:

  • Unrestricted donations—Build the Foundation’s General Funds, to be used by the hospital as needed.
  • Capital Fund donations—Are used to acquire equipment, building or renovating facilities.
Restricted funds are give by a donor for a specific prupose, such as a particular program or area of the hospital.
  • Endowments—Provide for the future health of our community. The Foundation uses only the income from investing its endowments, using 75% of the income each year and reinvesting 25% to ensure that the endowment continues to provide funds year after year.
