Third Years

Dr. Sheila Llanes
Dr. Sheila Llanes, who relocated from Chicago, graduated from medical school at Manila Central University in the Philippines after earning an undergraduate degree in biology from University of Chicago. She completed a post-graduate internship in the Philippines. Dr. Llanes has worked as a researcher at Mt Sinai in Chicago and has co-authored multiple peer reviewed articles. She volunteered at a community health center during medical school.

Dr. Bina Rashid
Dr. Bina Rashid is a medical school graduate of St. Matthew ' s  University, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. She received a bachelor’s of arts degree in chemistry from Florida Atlantic University and a master’s of health services administration from St. Joseph’s College of Maine.

Dr. Tahirah Tyrell
Dr. Tahirah Tyrell received her undergraduate degree in English Literature from McGill University in Montreal and her medical degree from Ross University. After finishing medical school she started a non-profit organization in Canada for the purpose of securing contributions for the economically and socially disadvantaged.

Dr. Chevone Vent
Dr. Chevone Vent attended University of Findlay studying biology and pre-med for her undergraduate work. She most recently has attended the University of Cincinnati’s College of Medicine. Dr. Vent has worked with the Urban Health Project, Medical Volunteers of America, and Habitat for Humanity.

Dr. Leanna Withrow
Dr. Leanna Withrow joins the FMRP with 10 months of advanced level credit. Dr. Withrow received her doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Mo. Following that she completed a transitional year internal medicine program at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. She transferred after a short tenure as a neurology resident at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill.. After she finishes up her family medicine training she hopes to complete a geriatrics fellowship.

 

Second Years

Dr. Swapna Manthena
Swapna Manthena, MD, graduated from Deccan College of Medical Sciences, India. Manthena recently completed a clinical rotation at at the Georgetown Health Care Center in Georgetown, Ky.
Dr. Leo Lasala
Leo Lasala, MD, of Houston, Texas, graduated from Far Eastern University School of Medicine in the Philippines. Prior to attending medical school Dr. Lasala was a medical technologist, holding a bachelors degree in that field. During medical school, he was active in the International Student Organization and was president of the Student Council. He has volunteered in multiple clinics in the United States and the Philippines.
Dr. Amandeep Uppal
Amandeep Uppal, MD, graduated from American University of Antigua. She has a bachelor degree in biology from San Francisco State University. She has a commitment  to the underserved and has a special interest in preventive health care.

Dr. John Morris
John Morris, MD, of Dayton, graduated from Saba University School of Medicine in Saba, Netherlands-Antilles. He received his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Dayton and worked for NCR for several years. He completed three months of Adult Medicine in the CMH FMRP. Dr. Morris is a veteran, having served in the US Marine Corp. He achieved rank of captain and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for outstanding performance.
