Our program faculty
Dr. Edward Onusko, Program Director
Dr. Edward Onusko has been program director since 2010. He has been on the residency faculty program since its inception in 1997 and has played many roles in medical staff leadership over the years in support of CMH.
He earned a bachelor’s of science degree in anesthesia from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and was certified as a physician assistant in anesthesia in 1977. He attended the CWRU School of Medicine, graduating in 1981, and completed a family practice residency at the University Hospitals of Cleveland in 1984. He then moved to Greenfield, a small town in the CMH service area, to fulfill a National Health Service Corps scholarship commitment.
For 13 years there he practiced adult medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and industrial medicine. He also first-assisted in general surgery, performed administrative duties, and precepted for third and fourth year medical students from the University of Cincinnati. He practiced maternity care for 10 years. He joined the CMH Family Practice Residency Program in April of 1997. His areas of academic interest include practice management, hypertension and spirituality in medicine.
Dr. Onusko enjoys traveling and has been to Africa, China, Hong Kong, Japan, India and Europe. He is married to Dr. Jenny Morgan, a family physician and Greenfield native. They have five children. Dr. Onusko’s hobbies include running, music, (mandolin, guitar and bass) and cooking.
Dr. Jennifer Bain, Associate Director
Dr. Jennifer Bain has been associate program director of the CMH Family Medicine Residency Program since 2010. Dr. Bain joined the faculty in 1999.
Dr. Bain has served as medical director of the CMH Family Health Center since 2006. In addition to her leadership role and clinical private practice, Dr. Bain, who also practices obstetrics, coordinates the maternity care curriculum and supervises residents at the health center and at Clinton Memorial Hospital. She currently serves as Director of the Department of Medicine, and assumes the role of Chief of Medical Staff in January 2013.
Dr. Bain completed her training at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, where she was chief resident. She received her bachelor’s of science degree in biology from the University of Cincinnati and her medical degree from Ohio State University.
Dr. Janet Gick
After 16 years of rural private practice, Dr. Gick joined the faculty of the CMH Family Medicine Residency Program in 1997. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1975 and from Mt. Carmel’s Family Practice Residency in Columbus, in 1978. She worked at the OSU Student Health Center and the Veterans Administration before moving to Wilmington in 1980.
Dr. Gick enjoys teaching and is instrumental in coordinating the lecture series and inpatient service. Her areas of expertise include rheumatology and endocrinology.
Dr. Gick is married to Dr. Thomas Matrka, an orthopedic surgeon on the medical staff of CMH, and they have three children.
Dr. Frederic Stuart Leeds
Dr. Frederic Stuart Leeds joined the faculty of the CMH Family Medicine Residency Program in October of 2008. He received his bachelor’s of science degree in chemistry from the University of Cincinnati in 1989; his master’s of science in pharmacology from Case Western Reserve University in 1993; and his medical degree from CWRU in 1995.
He completed his residency training at the Medical College of Virginia, Chesterfield Family Practice Center in 1998.
His areas of academic interest include chronic pain management, evidence-based medicine, medical informatics and complementary/alternative medicine. He will serve as the Chief of the Department of Medicine, effective January 2013.
Dr. Leeds and his wife Barbara live in Yellow Springs, where they enjoy performing music, participating in community theater, communing with nature and staying fit with weightlifting and yoga.
Dr. Rachel Sneed
Dr. Rachel Sneed joined the faculty of the CMH Family Medicine Residency Program in August of 2010. Dr. Sneed received her bachelor’s of science degree in natural sciences from Xavier University in 2003. She attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine graduating in 2007; and completed her residency at the CMH Family Medicine Residency Program in June 2010. Her areas of interest include community health.
Dr. Sneed enjoys baking, reading, gardening and golfing. She and her husband, Scott, reside in the Wilmington area. They have two children.
