Family Medicine Residency Program

Benefits of the program

Diabetes ServiceCompensation:

  • 1st year residents: $50,798
  • 2nd year residents: $52,360
  • 3rd year residents: $53,901

Benefit Package:

  • Relocation assistance is available upon request—up to $1,000 provided to reimburse for documented expenses
  • International health trip: Funds available each year to assist up to two second-or third-year residents for the medical mission trip to Brazil.
  • Handheld PC: Each new resident receives a COMPAQ iPAQ pocket PC. Upon successful completion of the program, the iPAQ is given as a gift to the graduating resident.
  • Uniform and uniform laundry service.
  • Meals free while on duty or on call.
  • Education allowance: These funds are available for books and various education expenses each year and can be carried over to the next year.

Total package value approximately $5,000 per resident.

Additional Benefits included:

  • Insurance coverage: Health, dental, life and accidental. Death and dismemberment, and medical professional liability.
  • Retirement: Public employees retirement system (pre tax deduction).
  • Annual paid vacation time: 20 days.
  • Annual paid holiday time: 10 days.
  • Annual personal or family illness: Up to a maximum of 15 days.
  • Annual bereavement leave: Up to a maximum of five days.
  • Privileges to use the hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation fitness center.
  • Financial planning services are available.

  • Flexible spending account (pre tax payroll deduction for child care services and medical expenses).
