CMH Diagnostic Services Adds Digital Mammography

To Its Breast Imaging Center of ExcellenceDr. Pat Havey and Gene Hook with new machine

Already recognized by the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, Clinton Memorial Hospital Diagnostic Services is a fully integrated women's breast cancer center with the addition of a digital mammography machine.

"The new technology will help us do an even better job of detecting breast cancer for the benefit of our patients and area physicians," said Dr. Pat Havey (at left in photo), radiologist and medical director of CMH Diagnostic Services. "CMH is committed to investing in the most advanced medical equipment and this is an example of that.

"The earlier breast cancer is detected, the better your chances of beating it," Dr. Havey said.

CMH averages more than 5,400 mammogram procedures per year, according to department manager Gene Hook (at right in photo).

National Wear Red Day On February 3

In support for women's heart health, CMH Regional Health System is encouraging its staff and others to wear red Friday, Feb. 3, in observance of National Wear Red Day®.

This observance promotes the Red Dress symbol and provides an opportunity for everyone to unite in The Heart Truth's® life-saving awareness-to-action movement by putting on a favorite red dress, red shirt, red tie, or Red Dress Pin. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women.

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, the Office on Women's Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and many other groups support National Wear Red Day efforts across the country.

National Wear Red Day is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the American Heart Association.
