2009 Highlights
- Dr. Michael Choo was named interim president and chief executive officer for CMH Regional Health System, replacing Andy Riddell who retired after more than six years at CMH and 39 years in healthcare.
- One new CMH Board of Trustee members was appointed. Geoffrey Phillips, of Wilmington, replaced Ed Kuehn who served 18 years on the board.
- CMH celebrated its 10 year anniversary and partnership with Project SEARCH, a transition work program for students with disabilities.
- Dr. Leanne Budde, medical oncologist, joined the CMH Medical Staff and the Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center.
- The CMH Medical Staff welcomed four pulmonologists from Dayton Lung and Sleep Medicine, Inc.: Dr. Martin Ambrose, Dr. Aamir Malik, Dr. Mustafa Quadri and Dr. Mohammed Zakkar.
- Dr. Rajiv Patel, an obstetric and gynecological physician on the CMH Medical Staff since 1999, was elected chief of staff by the CMH Medical Staff.
- The CMH Foundation Auxiliary raised more than $57,000.
- The CMH Foundation raised more than $352,000 to assist uninsured and underinsured CMH patients and enhance services at Clinton Memorial Hospital and other health system entities, including the Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center.
- Five members of the CMH Foundation Board of Trustees retired: Andy Riddell, Dr. Foster (Jack) Boyd, Sharon Hiles, Charlyn Kruszka and Phil Snow. Four new Foundation board members joined, including Dr. Gary Blumberg, Jason Walt, Andrew McCoy, all from Wilmington, and Donald Gephart, of Blanchester.
- The Foster J. Boyd, MD Regional Cancer Center held its second annual Brake for Breakfast in October and third annual Survivors Day in June.
- CMH Regional Health System’s Third Annual Nursing Excellence Awards banquet was held, honoring 25 CMH registered nurses and one licensed practical nurse, representing 13 departments.
- The 128 volunteers at CMH logged more than 25,000 hours.
2008 Highlights
- CMH won several awards in 2008. The CMH website won a silver award for Best Overall Internet Site for hospitals under 200 beds from eHealthcare Leadership Awards. The Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center, along with Champlin/Haupt Architect, Inc., received a design award for health care in Cincinnati Magazine’s sixth annual Interior Design Competition.
- CMH Regional Health System pursued an affiliation with a larger health care organization by sending out a request for proposal to large Ohio urban hospital or health care organizations.
- The Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center, is observing its second anniversary in February 2009. In its two year existence, the cancer center has treated more than 850 patients.
- Dr. Mark Gazall, a vascular surgeon, joined the medical staff of CMH to perform both vascular and endovascular surgeries.
- New physicians joined the CMH Medical Staff, including: Dr. Seema Nadkarni-Navalkar, Dr. Angela Rackley, Dr. Lawrence Gamby, Dr. Ian Sarembock. Dr. Mark Gazall, Dr. Scott Simmons, Dr. Surmeet Bedi, Dr. Andrea Dabney and Dr. Gina Bell.
- CMH celebrated the five year anniversary of the completion of the patient tower, which included the Surgery Center, Mother-Baby Care, and two new inpatient units. In addition Inpatient Rehabilitation and Clinton Community Dental Services celebrated five year anniversaries.
- CMH opened the CMH Center for Family Medicine at 781 W. Locust St., Wilmington, with Dr. Scott Simmons as the primary care physician.
2007 Highlights
- The Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center opened in February 2007. The $8 million, 18,000 square foot cancer center brings together a range of advanced radiation and medical oncology services, programs and staff expertise that is available five days a week.
- CMH installed a cutting-edge 1.5T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system – the EXCELART Vantage™ powered by Atlas – from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.
- Andy Riddell was named the president and chief executive officer, making him the seventh administrator in its 56-year history.
- Several CMH services celebrated anniversaries this year: Emergency Services and PESSO celebrated 15 years of collaboration; Family Medicine Residency Program, Diabetes Services and East Clinton Medical Services celebrated 10 years, while SleepCare recognized five years.
- The CMH Foundation Auxiliary successfully raised more than $99,000 in 2007.
- Dr. Tom Neville, member of the CMH Medical Staff, was elected chairman of the CMH Board of Trustees replacing Dr. Ruth Hayes, who served two one-year terms as the chair, and will serve as immediate past chair.
- The Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center held its first annual National Cancer Survivors Day in June.

2006 Highlights
- CMH Sleep Care, a comprehensive, outpatient sleep disorders program, began operations at CMH’s River’s Bend Health Center, 87 E. US 22 and SR 3, Maineville.
- Emergency Services at Clinton Memorial Hospital recently achieved certification to be a continuing education training site for emergency medical services.
- Radiology Services added a second, new nuclear medicine camera as well as an i-STAT system which allows blood draws through an IV.
- Rehabilitation Services stretched into the community with several collaborative programs with Wilmington College and senior citizen centers in Wilmington, New Vienna, Sabina, and Lebanon.
- An average of 199 volunteers—equivalent to more than 12 fulltime employees—donated nearly 23,500 hours of their time to CMH Regional Health System during 2005, it was reported during Volunteer Month in April.
- CMH implemented a new patient survey tool. The new survey tool focuses on patients’ perspectives.
- CMH celebrated its 55th anniversary in October.

2005 Highlights
- Wound Treatment Center opened in the hospital to treat patients with chronic non-healing wounds.
- Dr. Choo performed 100th heart procedure in the hospital’s Low-Risk Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
- The new SecondLook breast cancer detection system was installed to enable identification of cancer and other life-threatening conditions earlier.
- CMH started issuing patient friendly billing statements.

2000 to 2004 Highlights
- The first week of 2004 at CMH began with a move into the new Intensive Care unit and the opening of the new Women’s Diagnostic Center off the atrium.
- The patient tower and related renovations were completed by October 2004
- In December 2003 a record number of more than 3,300 patients visit Emergency Services.
- In 2000 CMH begins $35 million building and renovation project at hospital campus.

1990s Highlights
- The Center for Healthcare Industry Performance Studies ranks Clinton Memorial Hospital as a top-performing hospital in Ohio and in the nation.
- CMH East Clinton Medical Services opens in 1998.
- In 1990 the hospital begins $1.8 million renovation and relocation of surgical services.

1980s Highlights
- In 1989 the hospital initiates $1.5 million capital campaign to renovate surgical services.
- Renovation is completed in 1984 on the obstetrical unit to keep up with current trends and practices.
- Agreement is signed in 1981 with the U.S. Department of Defense to be a civilian-military contingency hospital in case of war.

1970s Highlights
- Helicopter transfer for emergency patients is initiated in 1979.
- In 1978 James Amos is named fourth administrator. In 1976 the operating budget exceeds $4 million.
- Hospital and community launch $325,000 memorial fund drive in 1971 for hospital improvements.

1960s Highlights
- In 1969 the hospital is remodeled and the west wing is completed, and the bed capacity becomes 147.
- Ralph Mead is named third administrator in 1968, George West is named second administrator in 1966 and the hospital budget exceeds $1 million.
- In 1965 the first open-heart massage is performed at CMH. Guild then donates cardiac defibrillator.

1950s Highlights
- 1957 is the busiest year since Clinton Memorial Hospital opened, and the budget exceeds $500,000.
- In 1951 a new 64-bed, $950,000 "cathedral to healing" is dedicated on Sept. 21, and 3,000 attend the open house. Dr. H.R. Bath is elected the hospital’s first chief of staff, and CMH’s first baby, Vicki Priest, is born on October 4.
- Operating board appointed and Elsie Delin is named first administrator in 1950.

1940s Highlights
- In 1949 the hospital groundbreaking occurs.
- Twelve acres of land are purchased on West Main Street for hospital in 1947.
- In 1945 Clinton County citizens form a committee to promote the construction of Clinton Memorial Hospital.
